The WRAP Program

The World Rhythms Arts Program (WRAP) is a multiple-discipline curriculum that incorporates drumming, singing, dance, and culture. Rooted in traditional West African music and dance, WRAP develops arts and life skills through a holistic approach to music and movement education. Students play their way through 20 developmentally progressive lessons, learning authentic drumming and dance skills, traditional rhythms, an artist's vocabulary, Susu language, culture, geography, and essential life skills.

Who Can Participate in the WRAP Program

People of all ages and abilities can participate in the WRAP curriculum. The curriculum is suitable for students from upper-elementary throurgh college levles and allows teachers to customize lessons to meet the needs of their students. In addition to being a multiple-discipline curriculum, WRAP may also be used as a stand-alone drumming program, dance program, and as a social studies, history, or language unit.
